Confidence is a major factor in relationships and self love. One of the ways we grow in confidence is through expression. The ability to show who you are as a person has changed over time and so has the status quo for "appropriate wedding attire". You want to know who deems the appropriateness of your wedding attire? YOU DO! On your wedding day you get to decide what you wear and how much of your body you show (this includes tattoos and piercings). Tattoos in wedding dresses are beautiful. I love when a bride or groom has tattoos and choose to show them off. I personally have tattoos and they mean a lot to me, they are colorful parts of my skin that show a side of myself I couldn't express otherwise. On my wedding day I want them in my photos, it's a part of who I am and I don't ever want to hide that.

I have heard from my brides the concern of not looking classy or elegant. Worries that their families will criticize if their tattoos show in their dress. Traditional values passed down that say they need to cover up their bodies and hide their art. Ultimately, it is up to you. If you want to flaunt it then get that dress that shows them off and makes you feel like the beautiful badass you are. If you want to cover up and that makes you feel more confident on your wedding day then get that gorgeous dress with sleeves and strut down the isle to your soon to be spouse. No matter how you choose to dress remember that we are women of a new era and we don't let others define us. Tattoos or not, you are an amazing human and the day is about you.

The day you say I do with your partner you should feel comfortable, beautiful, confident, and most importantly you should feel like the best version of yourself.
